There is a natural variation in the screen printing process. Screens are often reused and can sometimes have ghost images from previous prints. This screen print was made at the invitation of the Wassaic Project, an art center in the Hudson Valley in New York. I worked with a print fellow to create this work and during the printing process I noticed what looked to be letters on some of the prints. Taking a closer look, words from the previous print were coming through the screen. The title, A Perfect Practitioner Of, riffs off of the emerging message and embraces the serendipitous spirit of this collaborative process.
